Friends,

Last “Phat Tuesday” I was listening to George Howard’s band having a great time.

When chatting with George after the gig he approached me about placing my sculpture on display  at the Tucson Musicians Museum.

Never having had been there I asked “where is it located? His reply “Tucson Convention Center”.

I said “That would be awesome”.  Thinking, “how are you going to swing that”?

He told me that he was the President of the Board of the TMM working with the Mayoral Arts Council in conjunction with the Convention Center and they were hoping to bring some more attention to the Museum.

Often conversations like this, after shows ...have a way of not manifesting.  I was elated when a few days later I received Georges phone call.

As an emerging artist it is beyond thrilling when anyone recognizes you and knows your work so to be presented with an opportunity like this was such an thrill - kind of one of those pinch me moments. I didn't believe it.

Never having heard or been to the “Tucson Musicians Museum” before,  I told George I would check out the venue and get back to him. Then went to check out the space.

I was pleasantly surprised to recognize so many of the inductees whose photos were on the  walls. Many of whom, I personally know and have known. I am a genuine fan of theirs and the music they make.

My life has certainly been enriched by my exposure to music and music made in Tucson. I am honored to have the opportunity to display my artwork here among the faces of these musicians who make it happen: locally of course. Not to mention my first concert. Bon Jovi.

Special thanks to the Tucson Musician’s Museum, the Tucson Convention Center, the Mayoral Arts Council  and George Howard for providing such a prestigious venue to show my Sculpture. I really appreciate this opportunity.

Thank you,

Jeffrey Parrish
